High-Fructose Corn Syrup

HFCS is composed of 55% fructose, 45% glucose. It tastes slightly sweeter than sucrose since it contains 5% more fructose and 5% less glucose. The taste alone may cause people to eat less natural, healthy foods because their pallets have become desensitized to natural sugars. Many people find that fruit simply doesn't taste that sweet.

Just because it originated from corn doesn't mean it's natural. You can also use corn to make ethanol. Water bottles are made from petroleum which comes from the earth; I guess you could call HFCS just as natural. Many foods that use HFCS as a sweetener are probably heavily process and bears little nutritional value. Some studies have shown that the consumption of this sweetener can cause the body to excrete nutrients.

Everyone has the right to an opinion. Regardless of how many ads run by the corn companies are poured around me, I'm not going to consume that genetically modified rubbish.
